How do J-Tools work?
Tool Insertion: J-Tools have a unique "J" shaped end. This end is inserted into the keyway of the deadbolt. the long arm of the "J" shaped tool is inserted into the keyway while the short arm remains on the outside of the keyway.
THUMB SWIVEL ENGAGEMENT: Once the J tool is inserted into the keyway, the long arm of the "J" will engage the thumb swivel on the inside of the door. The thumbturn is the rotating part of the door lock that locks and unlocks the deadbolt.
OPERATION: After the locksmith or professional has properly engaged the J-tool, turn the tool to mimic the action of turning the thumbturn from the inside. This action causes the deadbolt to retract, opening the door.
OPENING THE DOOR: With the deadbolt retracted, the door can be opened from the outside to gain access to the locked area.
